Seminar and workshop, Ludbreg, Croatian Conservation Institute / Ludbreg Conservation Centre, 23rd-25th September 2002
The three-day professional conference held in the Ludbreg Conservation Centre included presentations by domestic and foreign paper conservation-restoration experts as well as a two-day workshop. The following themes were covered: how paper behaves and its decay; the restoration of incunabulae and codices from church archives; large-format books; archive books. Special emphasis was placed on the conservation-restoration interventions on the wallpapers in the Gucetic-Katic Palace in Dubrovnik, carried out by experts from the Croatian Conservation Institute in Zagreb. An exhibition documenting the interventions was staged on this occasion.
About 80 participants attended the lectures and the workshop attendance was limited to 25, mainly employees of the Croatian Conservation Institute, the State Archives from Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik, the State Archive of the Republic of Slovenia, along with employees of several museums.
