Professional conference, Zagreb, Mimara Museum, 24th-26th November 2008
The aim of the conference was to discuss procedures used in textile conservation for preserving and improving the state of artefacts, namely procedures which can lead to irreversible damage if not properly applied. Topics of the conference ranged from preventive conservation of textiles, removal of dirt from textile artefacts to exhibiting textile artworks and new materials and techniques used in conservation of textile artefacts. Certain conservation-restoration procedures were demonstrated and workshops were organized at the Croatian Conservation Institute Department of Textiles, each with 15 conservators-restorers of textiles attending.
