The aim of the conference was to bring together a larger number of experts in the field and point out the multidisciplinary character of conservation and restoration of textiles. Lectures were open to the public at the large conference hall of the Mimara Museum at Rooseveltov trg 5 in Zagreb. Workshops and demonstrations of specific procedures were organized at the Croatian Conservation Institute’s Department of Textiles in Ilica 44/II in Zagreb. The number of participating conservators-restorers at the workshop was limited to 15.
Official languages were Croatian and English.
The four-day conference was attended by some 160 participants: conservators, curators, conservators-restorers, college students and teaching staff, representatives of religious communities and everyone interested in this subject.
